SEWARD, ALASKA
11-23-2011
For the first time in the
history of the SSPX's
St.
Therese, Patron of Alaska Mission in
Anchorage, two
Ignatian
Retreats were preached there during the month of
October.
Fr. Duverger and Br. Rene
traveled from Kansas City, Missouri to the quaint city
of Seward, Alaska, where a hotel manager offered a good
price for hosting the retreatants. The large hotel also
provided additional rooms for the retreats' needs, a
conference-dining room and a room converted into a
little chapel.
The 5-day Ignatian
Retreats were offered to the faithful in two sets, first
for the 10 attending men, and then for the 12 women (of
whom 3 were from Post Falls, Idaho). For most, this was
the first retreat and all the retreatants were very
grateful for opportunity and look forward to following
another next—which
will hopefully be possible.
